Bangkok transforms into a massive water battlefield during Songkran. These are the hottest (and wettest) spots — from full-on chaos to chill family-friendly zones.
Silom Road
LGBTQ+ party central. Water guns, DJs, bar crawls.
BTS Sala Daeng or MRT Si Lom
Bring your own water guns — prices triple on the street. No need to dress up — you'll be soaked instantly.
Khao San Road
International backpacker war zone. Buckets, powder, water guns, absolute chaos.
Taxi to Phra Athit Rd or boat to Phra Athit Pier (N13)
Expect powder on your face — it's tradition. Bring goggles. No BTS/MRT nearby.
Siam Square
Cultural + fun. "Pha Khao Ma" dress code. Concerts, water fights, traditional zones.
BTS Siam (direct)
Dress code enforced — avoid revealing outfits. Buy a pha khao ma cloth at the entrance if needed.
Central World
Thai Rhythm water fights + live music. Massive open square. FWD Music Live Fest follows Apr 18–20.
BTS Chit Lom or Siam, walk via skywalk
Arrive early for good concert spots. The square is huge — water fights on one end, stage on the other.
Sanam Luang
TAT-organized. More cultural than chaotic. Grand parades, EDM splash zone, drone shows at night.
Chao Phraya boat to Tha Chang Pier or MRT Sanam Chai
Start here during the day, then head to Khao San (5 min away) when things get wild.
ICONSIAM Riverside
Beautiful and cultural. Grand Parade, water installations, sacred ceremony. Riverside setting.
